Sous Chef Opening

We are seeking a Sous chef to join our tiny, close-knit kitchen crew here at Gus Gus. The ideal candidate is energetic and exudes positivity, with at least 4 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant setting (management experience is a plus). The ability to remain calm under pressure & maintain consistency and superior quality in a high-volume environment is a must. If this sounds like you, let’s talk!

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a very high-volume kitchen for 4 or more years

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with placing food orders

  • Excellent knife skills

  • An energetic team player

  • Someone who is collaborative, patient, and flexible

  • Someone who can assist the Chef in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering, receiving, and monitoring food costs

What we have to offer:

  • Competitive compensation -salary is dependent on experience and will be discussed upon interviewing

  • Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (off Sunday & Monday) with hours being approximately 50-55 hours per week. (Most shifts begin around noon.)

  • Closed most major holidays (with pay) (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July) 

  • An additional 14 days of paid vacation

  • Health insurance stipend
